A warm welcome to all visitors to this website.

What is presented on this website arises from the conviction that we should love the Lord our God with all our heart and worship and serve Him only (Mark 12:30; Matthew 4:10); that it is vital to seek, know and live the truth; that the Lord Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6) and that all Scripture is inspired by God (2 Timothy 3:16).

Mark 12:30: And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.

Matt. 4:10: Then Jesus said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.'"

John 14:6: Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me."

2 Tim. 3:16-17: All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

To live well and effectively, we need to know the truth, to know how we ought to live, and live accordingly.

Having come to recognise the reality of the perfect God, the God of truth, it is imperative that we seek to know Him and deepen in our relationship with Him in ever increasing measure.

Recognising the Scriptures to be inspired by God and therefore absolutely reliable in what it teaches, we seek to understand it so that we could know God and know how we should live our lives.

The Lord Jesus tells us "the truth will make us free" (John 8:32).

John 8:31-32: So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free."

By that, He means we are:

  • free from bondage to sin
  • free from bondage to the evil one
  • free to live out a life that is not only truly pleasing to God but also one that is truly fulfilling, satisfying, abundant and fruitful

The path of true discipleship involves knowing and continuing in the truth, abiding in Christ and walking in Him who is the Way, and the Truth and the Life.

An important approach to life is to absorb and live out only what we are satisfied is the truth. When we are clear it is the truth, we must act on it, so that we may be like the wise man who built his house on the rock (Matthew 7:24).

Matt. 7:24: Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Like the seed in the good soil, we must receive the truth in an honest and good heart, hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance (Luke 8:15).

Luke 8:15: But the seed in the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in an honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance.

In this respect, we need to recognise that there are varying depths of appreciation of truth and reality in our lives. To this end, we must concentrate on reality rather than the outward appearance of things.

What is being made available on this website is based on messages preached in a local congregation over a period of more than 30 years in the context of a shared experience in the outworking of church life. The whole process of bringing this about is an expression of church life and various brethren contribute in different ways, including recording, transcribing and editing the messages, getting them ready in book form, designing and maintaining the website and continuing prayer support, fellowship and encouragement.

Care is taken to ensure that the materials presented are accurate, wholesome and biblical. They are presented in a manner that the hearers and readers can satisfy for themselves that what are being presented are indeed what the Lord desires to communicate to us through the Scriptures and not the mere assertions and opinions of man. I have tried to exercise care in quoting and interpreting the scriptural texts, and in showing how the truths are arrived at. What is clear is presented as clear, and what is not so clear is presented as not so clear.

It is my sincere hope that this website will be helpful to all who want to deepen in their faith and knowledge of God and truth and to work out the implications for their lives.

May the Spirit of Truth continually strengthen our resolve and enable us to seek, know and live the truth. May the contents presented here be used by the Lord to contribute something in that direction.

I would appreciate your continuing prayer support that the Lord will be pleased to guide and enable the continuing process of preparing and making available suitable materials for this website. Your feedback and comments are welcome.

In His love,
Lim Kou
