Appearance & Reality

audio icon Conduct, Service, Action

This section of 53 messages deals with the meaning and quality of conduct, service and action. We will consider what constitutes effective prayer and effective service, and the problems associated with being over-impressed by outward appearance of things such as an over-emphasis on dramatic experiences, numbers in outreach, and outward forms and activities. We will also consider issues relating to proper outworking of church life, for example, corporate worship, effective preaching, being good hearers and being trained and equipped for service. We will also reflect on the subject of communication, including the dangers of pleasant words and the positive and negative responses to reproof.
